1.BACKGROUND
The Gert Sibande TVET College (GS-TVET College), located in Standerton, Mpumalanga Province, invites proposals from service providers for a three-year term contract for the supply, delivery, configuration, commissioning, support and maintenance of a secured and reliable backend data processing and storage hardware for its Disaster Recovery (DR) site at Nkangala TVET College, Witbank, Mpumalanga Province.
2.SCOPE OF WORK
The bidders are invited to propose on the following business requirements:
An effective ICT Strategic Plan that is aligned to a relevant Corporate Governance of ICT framework,
A reliable, robust, secure and scalable Information Technology Disaster Recovery Solution (ICT-DRS) that matches or exceeds the technical specifications as presented herein.
2.1.ICT STRATEGIC PLAN
The Gert Sibande TVET College (GS-TVET College) identified a need to develop a “Strategic Plan” for its ICT environment, in order to ensure that all ICT activities and investments are aligned with the College’s strategic and business objectives.
As part of the ICT strategic planning project, ICT standards and policies must be defined to ensure sound governance of the GS-TVET College’s ICT environment. As such, the ICT Strategic Plan must guide the GS-TVET College’s decision-making process about technologies and ICT solutions to be used to enable the GS-TVET College business activities and service delivery to stakeholders.
2.1.1.Description
The ICT Strategic planning project entails the consulting and professional services by the service provider, to develop an ICT Strategic Plan, and provides a roadmap for ICT investments, and ICT operations in the short, medium and long term.
2.1.2.Bus Goals & Objectives
The ICT strategic planning proposal must address the following business objectives:
Setting overall ICT goals for the GS-TVET College,
Developing a strategic plan to achieve the ICT Goals,
Establish an ICT governance framework,
Developing a corresponding ICT Investment Roadmap.
2.2.ICT DISASTER RECOVERY SOLUTION
2.2.1.Description
The Gert Sibande TVET College (GS-TVET College) identified a need for a reliable, robust, secure and scalable Information Technology Disaster Recovery Solution (DRS), that is equivalent to a Tier 2 Data Centre.
Disaster recovery solution is aimed at protecting the GS-TVET College from the effects of significant negative events. The DRS shall enable the GS-TVET College to maintain or quickly resume mission-critical ICT Services following an occurrence of disaster.
