RENTAL OF SPACE FOR TUT DURBAN SERVICE POINT

Companies preferably residing in Umgeni, Berea, Greyville and surrounding Durban areas, with existing properties suitable for lecture rooms and staff offices within close proximity of public transport hubs that are accredited and qualified to provide rental of space and related services to the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), are hereby invited to submit proposals (TR27-2021).
Non-Compulsory Information Session

The closing date and time for receipt TR 27/2021 is on Tuesday, 12 October 2021 at 23:59 (midnight).  Further information regarding electronic submission of tenders will be shared at the Non-Compulsory Information Session and via email after purchase of tender document.
Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) reserves the right not to accept the lowest tender or any tender in part or in whole. TUT reserves the right to award this tender to an empowerment company or may award this tender on condition that a joint venture with an empowerment company is formed. This will be added to the criteria when evaluating the tenders. TUT reserves the right to award this tender as a whole or in part without furnishing reasons.

Requirements and special notes: 
  • Preferred Prime Area within close proximity of major transport hubs
  • Building size and type - Space is approximately 560m2
  • Not more than 3 floors, Must accommodate for a minimum of 550 students
  • Ablution Facility are/ will be compliant as per SANS 10-400
  • The Property Owner will ensure that the floor slab is sufficiently reinforced to accommodate items such as High-Density Filing Rooms and Individual Bulk Filling Cabinets including and office floor safesthat would have an impact on the loading of the slab.
  • Ceiling Clearance -Clear height of 2635mm (2.635m) minimum for offices space is required from finished floor level to underside of concrete soffit/ceiling tile down stand beams, or roof trusses.
  • Landlord to provide approved Building Plans
  • All structural columns position and sizes to be clearly indicated on plan.
  • Confirm if Municipal water and electricity connections are available on site. If not available, Property Owner to confirm as to when the water and electricity connections will be available if not, Landlord must be willing to grant approval for installation.
  • Generator - Offered, if not, Landlord must be willing to grant approval for installation
  • Confirm if broadband/internet connection is available on site. If not available, Property Owner to confirm as to when connection will be available.
  • A Site Inspection and Feasibility Report would have to be submitted as part of the TUT Approval process.

  • Occupational Certificate
  • Proof of Ownership (Title deeds)
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Electricity COC
  • Plumbing CoC
  • Backup water
  • Universal Accessibility in line with SANS 10400-S.
