Lockdown contact and service details

Together with the rest of the world we are facing an unprecedented challenge with the COVID-19 pandemic. PURCO SA is acutely aware of its potential impact on our health system, members, suppliers and employees, and fully supports the steps being taken to address this crisis.

In accordance with the regulations communicated by our President our offices in Midrand will be closed from Friday 27 March until we are allowed to return to work. We have, however, implemented measures to remain operational during the lockdown period.

Open for business during the lockdown

• All our staff have been equipped with the necessary facilities to work remotely and will be available to assist members and suppliers during normal working hours.
• Please contact staff as normal by email or on their mobile phones.
• You can contact us on +27 11 545 0940 or by email at info@purcosa.co.za. Your call or email will be redirected to the appropriate person.
• We appeal to members and suppliers to continue conducting their business with PURCO SA as usual.
• Our response to the crisis and lockdown is being coordinated by Zubair Hattia, Head of Finance and Operations. If you are unable to resolve any queries directly with the relevant staff member contact him by email at zubair.hattia@purcosa.co.za.

Working together to maintain our service commitment

Even before the President announced the lockdown, PURCO SA had taken steps to protect our staff and stakeholders. These measures will continue until further notice:

• Working arrangements
• Our staff will be operating on a work-from-home basis.
• All site visits and information sessions for tenders are on hold, and meetings will be conducted by video conference.
• All physical meetings are suspended, including those of the Regional Chairs and Committees, PURCO SA national meetings, and all training.
• Where necessary and practicable meetings will be conducted electronically.
• All travel, including air travel, is suspended until further notice.
• We have directed all our deployed consulting staff to respect and comply with the directives of the companies where they are working.
• Before the lockdown, to protect staff who were unable to work from home we implemented stringent office hygiene practices in line with the WHO guidelines, including rigorous sanitisation and steps to facilitate social distancing.
   
• Tenders
• All tender submission deadlines have been extended.
• New tenders will be published as normal on the website and social media.
• Continue to visit the PURCO SA website at purcosa.co.za on a regular basis to stay updated on tenders being facilitated by the PURCO SA office.
• Suppliers who have registered on the website will be notified of tenders by email, based on their products and services offering.
• We are implementing plans to accept tenders submissions electronically. Details on how this will work will be provided when suppliers respond to a tender.
