Thank you all for your support during the past 12 months: our Board of Directors, Committees, Members, Suppliers and of course our Staff.

With your help we enjoyed a year that was incredibly busy, absolutely invigorating, extremely successful and at times maddeningly frustrating (our challenges with loadshedding, phone lines and fraudulent bank account changes are cases in point).

In the past year Member spend on PURCO SA contracts increased to R1.83 billion; we managed 735 contracts with 621 suppliers, we helped Members achieve savings of R238 million and we distributed another R31.8 million in member rebates.

We saw significant growth in membership from 53 to 63 institutions. We now represent all 28 South African and Namibian public universities, three private higher education groups, 12 allied member bodies and 20 TVET colleges (with 11 more in the process of joining the consortium). 

We also renewed our ISO9001:2015 certification, awarded R200 000 in student bursaries, invested a quarter of a million Rand in member and supplier development, achieved a 28% growth in consultancy contracts and extended our PURQ coverage to 72% of higher education student records. 

Our Annual Conference in Cape Town was a huge success, breaking a number of attendance and positive feedback milestones. As expected, the event delivered a valuable and enjoyable meeting of minds for our Members and Suppliers.
