PURCO SA SABS Surveillance Audit 2022

20 June 2022 heralded the much-anticipated SABS Surveillance external audit for PURCO SA, following the re-certification audit last year in June, which saw a successful outcome with zero findings on all audited processes namely in the departments of  Finance, IT, Quality Management Systems as well as Human Resources processes.

“The SABS surveillance audit is based on the standard of the ISO 9001:2015 and also based on procedures that have been established within PURCO SA and lastly, based on the statutory requirements that the organization complies on” said Kgaogelo Mokwena (SABS Auditor)

Following certification and re-certification, SABS performs regular surveillance audits as follows: Having certified the organisation, SABS will, during the two-year period immediately following the date of Certification, conduct regular surveillance audits of the certified organisation and management system to verify continued compliance with the requirements of the scheme. It may be necessary to conduct audits at short notice. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigations on complaints;
  • Changes to the scope of the organisation’s activities, MS or practices;
  • Conducting on-site clearance of non-conformities visits; and
  • Conducting of a recertification audit after suspension.

The aim of this event was a surveillance audit of PURCO SA Management Systems, to determine conformance within the requirements of the standard, ISO 9001:2015; ensuring that PURCO SA remains within the quality paradigm of best practice and maintain quality culture of the organisation, as it is the only ISO 9001:2015 internationally accredited consortium of its kind in the world. “Our Quality Management systems are in place and that we say what we do, we do what we say, we prove it and improve it. That is the essence of quality. ” said Tshepo Mampuru (PURCO SA Contracts Manager).
