In 2018 Genius joined PURCO SA through a 6-month procurement graduate programme that exposed him to Higher Education Sector agreements/Group purchasing agreements. His main objective with the framework agreements is to achieve savings on behalf of PURCO SA members through strategic sourcing, implementation of strategic partnerships and supplier relationship management.
In 2020 he formally commenced with his procurement profession journey by enrolling with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). He has thus far completed CIPS Level 4 diploma in Procurement and Supply qualification.
Value Proposition
Genius’ value proposition is his legal background and contract law expertise that he uses as a tool to interpret supplier contracts, procurement policies and procurement legislation that most public universities ascribe to. The various South African legislation that he has exposure and experience in are:

The Future
When asked about his plans for the future this was Genius’ response: “Within the next 2 years, I see myself as a certified MCIPS professional that champions international best procurement practices and innovation in the South African higher education sector.”
