Mr Thandile Mhlom is the Senior Manager: Supply Chain Management at the University of Johannesburg. He holds a BCom Honours Degree in Logistics Management and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Marketing.

Mr Mhlom served for various organisations which include: Coega Development Corporation (CDC) as a Procurement Manager, City of Johannesburg (CoJ) as a Manager: Procurement and Stores, Fleet and Contracts, Agricultural Research Council (ARC) as a Divisional Supply Chain Manager, Artscape Theatre Centre as a Supply Chain and Contract Specialist, Rural Development and Agrarian as an Assistant Director: Procurement, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) as a Senior Admin Officer: Procurement.

Mr Mhlom has held various roles within the Higher Education sector such as Procurement Officer at Durban University of Technology (DUT), Deputy Director: Procurement at Central University of Technology (CUT). Before joining UJ, he held the position of Director: Supply Chain Management at the Nelson Mandela University.

Mr Mhlom has over 14 years of working experience in supply chain management, with valuable knowledge and experience in demand, acquisition, strategic sourcing, assets, stores and logistics, supplier performance and contract management. He poses more than 5 years in middle management experience. He has an excellent knowledge of best procurement practices in the public sector, having worked within various governmental departments, the University environment and state-owned entity environment. He has implemented and managed adherence to B-BBEE, the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), DHET University Macro-Infrastructure Framework, the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and National Treasury regulations.

End-end supply chain management activities, from managing sourcing to distributing the delivered items to the End-users for consumption/usage

Learning how to play soccer skills, attending primary school and organizing events at high school
